How to Apply
Grant Applications
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are posted on the OSRI website and advertised in other appropriate venues, generally for a minimum of one month. Proposal grant applications are accepted from individuals, organizations, and businesses nationally and internationally.
Where to Find Forms
To apply, you will need to complete the form provided in Appendix D and Appendix F of the Grant Policy Manual. When your project is underway, you will use the reporting forms in Appendices H, J, and K.
Small Awards
Under $25,000. Decisions made by the Research Program Manager in concurrence with the OSRI Scientific and Technical Committee.
Medium Awards
Between $25,000 and $100,000. Peer-reviewed, then recommended by the OSRI Scientific and Technical Committee.
Large Awards
Above $100,000. Peer-reviewed, reviewed by the OSRI Scientific and Technical Committee, and approved by the OSRI Advisory Board.
Graduate Research Fellowships
OSRI awards up to three graduate fellowships a year on a competitive basis to students admitted to or enrolled full time in a masters or doctorate program at an accredited college or university.
- Up to two years for masters-level research or four years for doctoral level research.
- $30,000 per year for tuition and research-related expenses.
- Requires a 25 percent match
- Restricts overhead to 25 percent. Unrecovered overhead can be used for match.
